WESTERN NEW YORK STATE CHAPTER OF NECA
For more than 45 years, the Western New York State Chapter of NECA and our members have helped build a brighter future for the Western New York area of NY. Representing more than 20 electrical contractors in Western New York, our Association is dedicated to promoting the highest construction standards through education, management training, skilled workforce training, and labor relations.
Working in partnership with the union electrical industries of Western New York (IBEW Local Union #41 in Buffalo, IBEW Local Union #106 in Jamestown and IBEW Local Union #237 in Niagara Falls), the WNY Chapter and its contractors have an unwavering commitment to bring the highest levels of experience, quality, reliability, and safety to each construction project.
NECA-WNY Chapter and its contractors take pride in being at the forefront of the electrical industry – from high voltage power transmission to low voltage, energy efficient lighting, state-of-the-art life safety systems to building energy management systems, and from utility construction to renewable energy projects.
How does NECA membership benefit Electrical Contractors?
- NECA Membership allows Contractors the benefit of the highest level of service between the IBEW Union and the Contractor.
NECA provides resources for a wide variety of professional training services on a variety of topics crucial to adding to the success of each company member.
The Western NY State NECA Chapter is a member of the New York State Council of NECA Chapters. The Council maintains an eye on legislative issues which could impact Contractors doing business in New York State, as well as taking a proactive position with State Representatives and other businesses in New York State, to formulate policies which affect Electrical Contractor's businesses.
- The Western NY State NECA Chapter is a direct link to the National NECA Government Affairs Office, which constantly reviews federal legislation and serves as a watchdog to protect contractor interests on a National level.
- The Western NY State NECA Chapter enrolls all members into the 3E COMPANY SDS paperless system. As a participant in this program, Contractors need not collect SDS sheets for inclusion in their HAZCOM Programs. This paperless "on demand" system allows contractors employees access to SDS information on any product with a telephone call. Contractors can avail themselves of current information and eliminate countless hours of office staff putting together this information that is required to be updated quarterly.
- The Western NY State Chapter NECA appoints all management representatives to serve as Trustees for the Fringe Benefit Trust Funds, Labor-Management Committee and JATC.
